Bugger - there goes my Plan B - after getting certified in case settlement in NZ does not work out.
But I imagine that where there is a will there is a way...that somehow the job will become reclassified as "administrative assisitant" or somesuch
....in the best oblique oriental tradition..... I'll be interested to see how this all unfolds... :icon_biggrin:
Must be very difficult for the folks such as the dudes in the article... that have to uproot 5 years of work and leave

David K,
If your married and living in China, you can make a pretty good living teaching English privately, so just take your plan B and move sideways in the true Chinese tradition...lol!!!
It takes years for things like this to filter down to the grass roots in China, they are not going to cut there noses off to spite there face.... They need English teachers 1000's of them. In all honesty this will gently die a very quite death like so many other great ideas they have, but haven't quite thought through the consequences until it's too late, so to speak!!
David....

Thanks for the words of encouragement David... and I'll pass this on to my Lovely Yan (pic in the Just for a Laugh thread) who also needs encouragement :icon_biggrin:

What David is saying is true.It is all huff and fluff. If China really did this. There probably wouldn't be enough native English teachers. To teach in Beijing alone.Let alone the rest of China. How many thousand native speakers of English are they already short?
