Funny maybe, but you also have to give credit where credit is due. You colonials often forget how you came about in this modern world, most of it was through a tiny little Island thousands of miles away from you. In fact, most of your forefathers were British or of British decent. An Island that over the years built an Empire that stretched around the globe, so that in effect ''the sun never set over that British Empire''. All this from an Island that could fit many, many times into the countries it once ruled....
We didn't lose it 200 years ago either, most of the British Empire was ceded back to it's modern population over the last hundred or so years. During the British rule of this Empire, It brought the ''Rule of Law'' to many countries that were previously ruled by local warlords, Princes, and self appointed Ruler/dictators. Where life was anything but Rosy!!!
Maybe life was not perfect under British rule, but it was a darn site better and fairer than it was before British rule, and in more than just a few cases, better than after the British left!!!
