I came across this site  http://www.marriageinchina.com/index.html

It looks like it has some good information on it, but it is mainly aimed at the US so I'm not sure. Take a look .................

Found this lawyer through your link Paul. It looks like he is saying you can sponsor a woman without marrying her and without living with her, "because of extenuating circumstances." This would be dealing with Canadian immigration.

This site has been posted before. I didn't read through the whole site recently but I think it hasn't been updated, just going by the video on the front page.
