Not totally so. They have a containment under where the rods are so it can not have a meltdown.

Well...I will be the first to admit that I don't know a lot about nuclear power...but what I do know, is that Japan sure got slammed with a knockout punch.  They say bad things happen in threes, so hopefully, it is good times ahead now for Japan.  Surely, they can't take too much more of this.
