We just got the latest Samsung phone similar to the iphone but it is in English. Does anyone know who we can get a program or something to change the phone into Chinese language version?

If not, then the other way is to flash the rom, so that you can have chinese or any other language.

Btw, are you talking about Samsung Galaxy Note?

I will look again about that tonight.
On my rom, I can choose the language I want to use, when booting the first time.
Hmmm.... I have maybe the answer now in fact. you should reset to factory defaults, then, when turning off and on, it should ask you which language you want to use.

I just had my Samsung galaxy S converted over to Chinese last month. Actually it is both Chinese and English and can switch between from the settings menu. It is usually selectable when the phone is new but being from the good old USA from Att they only gave you two choices. English and ..er...english.

There is a shop in the telephone market that will do it for 100 RMB (about 15 bucks). If you are planning on being in Guangzhou I will show you where is is.

oh yes. if you got it from a USA carrier it is most likely locked to that company and cant be used in China. The shop that converted my phone also will unlock it for you.

That depends on the firmware that comes with the new phone. I have seen some galaxys here in China that have every language on earth to choose from  and others with just a few. I think it depends on the choices your carrier wants you to have. ATT only loaded the firmware for English on my phone. The reason is your guess but probably because they do not want the phone to leave them and don't want it used outside the USA.  Now I have new firmware I have more choices.

BTW I gave my phone to Fiona and have been looking at the Galaxy note.  How do you like it?  What is the going price for a new one?
