Confused about MoonCakes

(1/1)

Willy The Londoner:
Half a dozen pieces of pastry packed in the most ornate packaging one can buy.  The Chinese certainly have a unique way of selling these baked items at an also unrealistic price.

I wonder if someone was to stick half a dozen hot cross buns in  nice packaging and sell them for 100 times their cost would work? Something for you Western boys to think about for next Easter!

Willy The Londoner:
Hong Kong Customs seized 135 boxes of Counterfeit Mooncakes yesterday. T

hey were made in the mainland and being sold in Hong Kong. The only different was that the egg yolk inside was a lot smaller than the genuine one.   The items were tested and there no adverse report other than the smaller egg yolk was found.

In fact the counterfeits had one plus that the original did not have and that was a list of ingredients on the side of the packag!

Neil:
sounds like someone didn't grease the right wheel, or a competitor greased a wheel or two.

Vince G:
