I used two simply phrases in my last letter to my lady. Ni Hao (simple enough) and you are lovely
She excited responded with some chinese. I need a little assistance in the translation.
1. Ni hao ma? Hen kai xin shou dao ni de lei xin.
2. xie xie ni wo zai ze ni deng ni de lai xin (which had followed "Have a nice week and hope to hear from you soon". Is this what she said?
Any assistance would be great!

1. How are you? I'm very happy to have received your letter - Ni (you) hao (good) ma (interrogative particle)? Hen (very) kai xin (happy) shou dao (received) ni de (your) lei (coming) xin (letter).
2. Thank you. I am thinking of you. I'll wait for your letter - xie (thank) xie (thank) ni (you) wo (I) zai (think) ze (of) ni (you) deng (wait) ni de (your) lai (coming) xin (letter)

Tiztom:
Quick question, if you actually wrote some of these phrases in a private email would they be able to understand /read them or do the girls only understand Chinese characters? I know Japanese understand western characters but not too sure if they are commonly used in china.
