Title: Cn domestic air flights
Post by: Vince G on February 09, 2012, 09:53:52 am
I don't recall anyones story of domestic flights in China? Is it like the US pre-flight security? Checking through everything including yourself? or is it like a bus? Smoking allowed? What's the story?

Happy Birthday Vince,

I have flown domestic with Shenzhen Air & Hainan Air. Both did not have smoking allowed and boarding security was similar to domestic here in Canada. I do now that they are less demanding for requiring to remove footwear but you still need to empty your pockets and place laptops in the bins. For my personnel toiletries I think it a little humours that I have seen them opening my cologne and giving it a sniff.

Ok I'm getting the idea now. For the smoking thing? I hope to have stopped before making the trip but placed the question as so it would help picture the atmosphere. It sounds much like here.

Nah Max, smoking lounges are still open in Hong Kong.  I remember the little cubicles beside the washrooms with men packed like sardines, smoking nervously.

I heard that they do allow smoking on certain flights internally in China.  Few restrictions but the most important is that you HAVE to hold your head outside the window when lighting up so not to polute the interior. ;D

Packed in together by the washroom! - You sure that they were PUFFERS as described by Robbie.
