I'm booked and set for 4/13/09 and coming back 5/2/09. Supposed to marry straight from the airport and this may sound strange but my lady and I have had this planned for a while now.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who plans to get married on the first trip. We have been talking about it for quite some time and it all seems right. We both agree that we need some time together to be certain we really want to do this. She is very excited and keeps telling me she has a big surprise waiting for me... hmmmmmm??? While I'm in I'm there I will celebrate my birthday. Any of you guys wanna guess the date she wants to get married on??? So my question is this - is there any significance to a marriage occurring on a birthday? I think she is just being romantic and being cute but you never know...

Thanks Maxx, I kind of though that myself. If it makes her happy what the hell, to me it's just another day and as good as any to start our new life together. You know Maxx, I think I just answered the question myself. Birthday and starting our life together, now that tracks with the mind of a woman. I know they are different than western women but deep down they are women and emotional.

I am booked and set to go. My trip is I leave Denver May1st. I will be there till May 15th. I will be in Beijing for one day. Chengdu for 6 days and then Shenzhen for another 6 days.

I am leaving on May 7th and just going to Chengdu. I will be leaving Chengdu on May 25 to fly back to Florida.
David how long will you be in Chengdu for? I will be ariving there around 10:00 PM on the 8th. If you are still there maybe we could meet up.

I just booked my flight, :D , Will be leaving on May 1/2009 to Wuhan, come back home on may 23/2009. This will be my 3rd trip to Wuhan. Going to spend time with my wife, family and friends. This is perhaps the last time I will visit Wuhan for some time, we are currently going through the immigration process and if all goes well my wife should be here in Canada with me in late August or September.

Hi Chong,
I hired immigration lawyers back in November of 2008, my application has already been sent to immigration Canada. It took my wife and I some time to get all the paperwork completed and all supporting documents,notarized documents,family letters(both sides),letters from friends, medical exam,pictures,e-mails,personal letters,receipts (airline tickets,hotel,Restaurant,etc,,). We just have the interview to do, according to the lawyers they estimate that my wife will be here sometime between late August to October. However as we all know that is immigrations decision.
Quick tip:
This is an important to all of you that plan on bringing you lady back to your country and the immigration process, KEEP ALL YOUR RECEIPTS from your trip! take many photos of the two of you together and with family and friends, you must supply as much information as possible to immigration authorities, you must prove your relationship with your lady is real. The more information you give immigration, the better your chances they will accept your application.

For anybody that doesn't know , I married two day's after arriving on my first trip , to see my Qing for the first time stand in front of me , instead on a computer screen . If it feel's right , through writing , why would it not be more beautiful face to face ? Not that I was worried about some chinese Man getting in between us here . hehehe .

60 Days to go!! God that seems like a long time.Time drags on the waiting and flies when it arrives. Am now waiting for our Visas to arrive. Daughter is starting to vibrate she's getting so excited, I'll have to tie her down when it gets down to the final two weeks. :lol: We are all excited. Wei and her daughter, me and mine. First time for my daughter to ever be on a plane, by the time we arrive she may never want to get on another one again ;) . Really enjoying the posts here! Thanks to the Mods for getting this together for us China-men.

Thanks Vince, yes I'm going to try to visit the agency. Its the CiMeng Yaun International agency.
Gautam said he didn't have very good luck with them, but I'm going at it with an open mind. So far it has not been a problem to get other pics and info about my lady. They even set up a webcam feed with her when I asked. Once in awhile she won't answer a question I ask, but I'll fix that when I get there. Her translator, a driver and Emily(English name) are all meeting me at the airport to take me to the hotel. When I first joined chn I was talking with a lady with the Shenyang Golden Olive agency. I know a lot of you use that agency. Sonya was my translator, too. But I didn't think that was going to work out so I started looking again. Too bad about that one, I had high hopes for her. (It was a parent thing) Anyway I'll let you all know my experiences when I get there. Looks like its going to rain in Shenyang most of the time I'm there. Great!

Just to confirm that I still will travel to Chongqing In June, from 21-27. (only 5 days for a "quick beginning"), and that I'm doing my administrative papers about all of that.

Unless everthing goes insane again (she changes her mind, or I break my arm which ever comes first), I'll be arriving in Nanning on the 29th of May and then we are going to Juizhaigou, after that I'm supposed to meet her brother somewhere in China this has not decided yet (to be made into some form of Chong chop soup I am certain), then to go meet her parents (again warry of sharp pointy objects), and 6 other siblings (more sharp pointy objects), and 7 nieces and 2 nephews.... We were going to go to Beijing, but for some cryptic reasoning beyond me she changed her mind. Somewhere in between I have a job interview I think which will be done on our trip to Juizhaigou. In between 6 provinces I think somewhere in there I will try to keep you all up to date lol... trains have internet right?...

Excellent function added Ronan. Thanks once again for the tremendous amount of work you have been doing for this site. As to my possible May trip - it looks like I will postpone untill the last week of July and 1st week of August. I sure wanted to go end of May. It would have only cost $850 Cdn round trip to Hong Kong. But I could only go for 1 week. I rather wait 2 more months to go for 2 weeks. I imagine all us guys that have already been over sure want to head back as soon as possible. It would be great to win a massive fortune in a lottery and hire a charter plane to gather all the brotherhood for one large group tour to China. Now that would be the Brotherhood of travelling by the seat of our pants. 8-)

Well Itried logging in today and it worked after the second try. Ying met me at the airport and we have been doing great every since. We went to Davids 203 agency and I felt I was treated ok. The lady manager said the "paper" that I remembered to bring might not be enough so she said I should call the American Embasey and see what they had to say. So I did and of course they have a window that they do this and the next one is thursday of this week. We were going to get married today. Then tonight after Ying left I started thinking and yes I understand the consiquinces of that. But the single status paperwork were sent to the Chinese Embasey in America so they should be good. I think in the morning we will try to get married with those papers. I want to keep 203 out of it as much as possible. Regardless of if they are legit or not it is still all about the money for them, I really dont think they care at all about the women and men. Its just a numbers game for them, the more letters the more money.
David said in his post that the food was hot in Chengdu. Well I think he left out how hot the stuff really is. I had a not hot food today at lunch with her parents and I thought I was going to die right in front of her parents. I just couldnt breath it was so hot. So me being so smart I took a big swig of cold water that I ordered seperatly since all they drink here is hot water or hot tea. And that made it a hundred times worse it rinsed out my mouth and down my thought that was allready closed up. Finally I got myself back under control. Then I used a few napkins to dry my eyes.
At one point during the meal her father actaully passed me a napkin for my eyes. The food is great but wow is it hot. I used a transolator from 203 at lunch time to meet her parents and it cost 50 Yuan an hour, well worth it.
We had lunch sunday after visiting the pandas and you talk about fresh food the guy brought over a live chicken hanging by its feet still alive and asked if this was the one we wanted. How fresh is that. Then Yings friends daughter ate the head of the chicken after it was served to use. Another guy was walking around with live tutles on a string. Fresh is fresh.
David I will be here for another week. I dont know what I can do to help but please call me if you like or email me.
I have had a couple of things come up that I know I wrote and she wrote and it is not the same as it is now but they are such small things I dont know if I am going to bring them up or not. In the big picture they mean nothing.
So needless to say at the moment I am a happy camper.

Tommorrow if we do not get marryed we will go see the big Budda that David talked about. Ying has a car so we are all set. I dont know what kind it is but is is real real small and kind of cute.

I'll be heading off to China on the 15th Sept. and come back on the 02nd Oct. My Trip will include , Shanghai , Guangzhou , Hong Kong , Shenzhen , Guangzhou and back to Shanghai . Hopefully with Qing's Visa in tow . I will also try to update here and my Blog if I can / have time .

I am going back on November 10. Flying in to Hong Kong, and then bus to Guangzhou. Zhifang, Allison and I will be traveling from there to Zixing, and Changsha, as well as some other town near Changsha. I am going for two weeks. We will be going to my ge ge's wedding while we are there.

Hiya Metooap, yup sure does. Just so you know you probably cannot book a flight from Beijing to Handan you gonna have to take the train. The Handan airport is brand new and not many flights set up yet. My lady Zhen is coming by train to get me in Beijing. we spending a few days in Beijing before heading to Handa by bullet train.
30 hours left before I am off to the airport hehe so excited!!

I haven't booked up yet as I'm awaiting my visa. But I am planning to be in Guangzhou from 2nd to around 15th October. I will also probably have a side visit to my lady's home town in Hubei Province, timing of visit TBC :s.
I would love to meet any of my fellow brothers in Guangzhou if you're around at this time! :fi_lone_ranger:

Wow, I didn't realise there was a calendar. That's useful. I am awaiting the return of my passport and hopefully my China visa, then it's all systems go on booking the vacation. I think I will be in Guangzhou from 2nd -> 15th October although there is hopefully a side trip planned to Hubei Province to see my girl's family and hometown (my girl's agency is in Guangzhou).
I will be taking a netbook computer and decent camera so I will post trip updates!

I would like to stay for 5 months there with my wife at her condo, (I hate the stupid Canadian winters) This will also give me a chance to look into other opportunities. I will know more this coming week if this will be possible, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.:icon_biggrin:

Destination Shanghai : October, 20th at morning.
Leaving Shanghai for Gz : October, 26th
I'll be 80 kms from Gz with Lyian for 3 days, and from 29th September up to October, 3rd, at morning, I'll be in Gz with her.
I will then go back to Shanghai because my flight for Paris (direct one) will be late in the night.

I will now be in Beijing just after Christmas and for a few days after the New Years celebration if anyone wants to meet? Then will be travelling to Hefei and Nanjing for a couple weeks in January 2010. Would love to hook up with some of the brotherhood while in China!:icon_cheesygrin:

Somehow i doubt that, ....Changsha is bigger than Beijing and has a dam site more natives than Beijing too!!...haha!!
It's just not as modern (as in new buildings) as Beijing, but that's changing all the time.... Oh, and they do say, all the most beautiful ladies come from in and around Changsha, ...so you should be on a winner, as far as your ladies beauty stakes go. ...lol!!

The most beautiful woman in all of china is actually from Handan, Hebei province. Sorry to burst your bubbles boys but thats the way it is.
As for all the other bautiful women in China well thats exactly it they are all beautiful, just not as beautiful as my Zhen.
