Title: Wedding Pictures
Post by: Rhonald on July 12, 2009, 03:48:34 pm
Since Skip asked me, and I replied with a PM to him, I thought it was a good idea for this new thread instead of keeping it in "Moving to China" thread.

This is part of the PM I sent him:

As to your question - The Chinese go full bore when it comes to the wedding pictures. A whole day is set aside for the pictures and sometimes, the picture taking day can be in a different month then the wedding. We got married Feb12, and the picture day was the romantic Feb 14. We had wished to register our marriage on the 14th but being a Saturday, the government was closed.

Most of the times the outfits for the pictures are supplied by the agency. You sign up with an agency and purchase a package. We purchased a package for about $440 Cdn. This included 30 pictures using 4 different outfits. We got 2 photo albums, a few framed bigger pictures and a romantic DVD. The DVD has music playing as it shows the pictures in a still frame setting. For $1000 Cdn we could have gotten 8 different outfits and 60 pictures. Some of the pictures would be outdoors. It was raining that day for us so we had all our pictures taken in the studio. I went in for make up at 11:30 am and we were done just after 6:00 pm.   End of PM:

I love showing of my girl so I will take the chance to post a few samples of our wedding pictures. I had them posted to facebook before, but since we migrated to this site, I deactivated my facebook account.

So here is a small sampling - enjoy.

Rhonald, love your Photo's. This is why we should choose to get Married in China, they are even more beautiful then in the west.

Well, as I'am also very proud of Our photo's, like to post some of them here for the ones that had no chance to see them yet.

The last, oh it was a long day, but one that will never fade out of our minds. The beginning of a long and wonderful Life together. May we be blessed with just that.

Fixed. :icon_cheesygrin:

You can download these to your computer and use them for when you need to post a pic. Instead of using the large ones.

Resolution on these were 300 pixs, just changing the pix to 72 (normal pix for the web) sizes them to 8x10.

I actually started this thread to show Skip and others what to expect if you do the offical wedding pictures project. I remember getting the chance to see Nik's wedding album - incredible pictures, that I am hoping to see others. No harm Arnold with your pics because they are captured in the spirit of the moment compared to ours being directed by the photographer. I wish to know the story behind the picture of you holding the mic because your wife has so many emotions displayed on her face at once. It's as if the photographer took the snap while she was changing her thinking of the situation.

That moment came ( which was quite imbarassing for me ) at the time to read each other's Promise Letter's . I had thought that I had it inside my Jacket , but could not find it . So trying to remember what I have writen month's before , wasn't easy , you can imagine ?
so off I went and I went on to tell how I feel about Qing and how we met and everything in between . I do love this Photo , as it tell me .. be careful what you say .. she is listening and so are other 50 People . I did find the letter later along with a special note for her Parent's that I gave them later . There were two embarassing moment's for me at the Wedding , the other when lifting Qing
( Photogragher's wishes ) and spun her around and around on uneven Paver's and my sole on one of my shoe's started to come off . Brand new Shoe's , only wore them the second time ( Italian too ) . But now , we can only laugh about those incidence's .:icon_cheesygrin:

Two string Pipa's , and the string's look too loose ? Most Pipa's now are four string and only the Erhu is two string , like the name states . ER = two Hu =string  . It would not sound like the 12 Girl's Band for sure . :@

I agree Arnold - I wished the items were in better condition. My wife does teach the Zither. And for that she can compare with the 12 Girl Band. And at night she plays wonderful music for me :dodgy:

Your goona have her in your loving arms before mine shows up on my shores. And I am sure you rather plan a trip to China to see your wife then to take music lessons from mine. I do have 2 webcam videos she has sent to me so I can hear her and see her play.

I don't know if I can upload them here. Also I better ask her for permission. This might get her to send me a new more formal webcam addition so it is worth a shot.:icon_biggrin:

Great pictures Peter, I love the red top you wore, looks very comfortable.
I'm sorry I must admit I made a LOL at the pic of your lovely new bride in her wedding dress and the mobile, Chinese ladies and their mobiles are utterly inseparable, its like a law or something! :D

Yes Peter, as Ronan writes great pictures. But the mobile was the first thing I paid attention too! Hehe! Do you have to take from her when she goes bed? Or does she put it under the pillow? Sorry, I could not resist!

I am looking forward to meet you and Tina back home in Scandinavia. But remember, I am not at home the next two weeks! :icon_twisted:
