Title: Request for evidence
Post by: Chad on February 10, 2012, 05:13:33 pm
It has been six months now that the USCIS received my spouse visa application and sent me a letter telling me that. My lawyer emails me a couple of days ago and says they just checked on my application and that the USCIS was working on the July 12th applications and mine was received on July 25th so they should be getting to mine soon.

Today I see on the USCIS website that my status was changed to Request for evidence. Of course the letter to me is in the mail and I will see what it says in a day or so, but in the mean time has anyone else received that request and if so what else did they want to know.

Any help will be appreciated.

OMG yes. I got the dreaded request for evidence. I hope they are just asking you for a single missing or overlooked document. For me they wanted everything including the kitchen sink.

this is from my experience. http://www.chinaromance.net/index.php?topic=2747.120 (http://www.chinaromance.net/index.php?topic=2747.120)

At any rate this is going to cost you a minimum of 60 days because your petition is going to go back to the bottom of the pile once they receive your response. Double check that you have included everything they asked for and everything you said you are sending else the will send you another rquest for evidence like they did me. And that will cost you another 60 days. So far I have been delayed for 4 months due to requests for evidence.
