Title: Changes
Post by: Martin on November 26, 2013, 11:00:52 pm
Hi all, there are some changes coming up in the not too distant future, pertaining to this site. I know Irishman has different url's pointing to this page, but I want to make sure that everyone is pointing their web browsers to the one that will be continuing. That is www.chnromance.com (http://www.chnromance.com)

I don't know all the changes that are coming, but I can let you know that there is a change of ownership of the site. Irishman has decided that he is too busy to continue operating this page, between work and family, and so, I will run the site. I have always been the site Admin, but now I will also be the site owner. Irishman took to initiative a few years ago, and helped move us from our first home on Facebook, to this current format. For that, I am always thankful.

There may be some other changes coming, but for now, it's business as usual. The site will be changing hosting companies, which will hopefully be fairly flawless. I will update changes and information on this thread.

Martin and I will keep you all updated as we go along, hopefully it will be relatively painless!
We will be going back to the mybb forum type that we had before. This is easier to maintain and recently has come on a long way since we last used it.
Sunny and I have a lot going on in our lives. One toddler 19 months old and another on the way in January means my focus is changing in life and I don't have time between babies and work commitments to maintain this the way it should be.
I'd like to thank everyone here for the great advice back in my darkest hours starting this journey. Without you i probably wouldn't be here happily married with a house and life I would have thought impossible a few years ago!

To the guys waiting on their ladies visa's the, the endless wait will end, hang in there, the final reward is worth it!

All the best.

19 month old and another on the way! He has been busy... Seems like just the other day I was reading about Irishman's trips to China.

All the best to you and Sunny

Just to keep you all in the loop, the site is soon going to be moved. As well as moving, there will also be a new look and design. For the older members, it will be similar to the first forum we had. There may be a disruption of the site during the move. Please make sure you have your browser pointed in the right direction, so that when the move is complete, you will be able to access everything. Thanks for your patience....and if you aren't patient....blame Maxx.

Yes, aim high...all the way to Canada. I saw a picture on Facebook once...it was a picture of North America. The heading was...America...Canada's toilet (on account of you guys being below us)

Gerry, the first post in this thread mentions about making sure your browser is pointing to www.chnromance.com (http://www.chnromance.com). There are other url's pointing to this site, but that's the one that will be sticking around.

Thanks Martin.

BTW...Do you know why America doesn't float away into the gulf of mexico?

Because Canada sucks.

I think that this is one thread that has come to a point where I should resist my natural urge to make a comment on. It has been hard but I went cold turkey and just let it go.;D ;D ;D

Kind of like leaving it in the cesspool of life.  Yes?

Just flushed your comments away.

Natural urges is what this is all about.

Martin things are backing up down here.  Get ready for a overflow.

I have added a couple of new themes if anyone wants to change the look of the site.  To change the theme you see, go to your profile, and go to the look and layout.  If anyone wants a different theme than what is available, I will try to download some more.

What happened to the (NEW) highlight next to new posts?
What happened to the little American flag under my photo?

I have searched my profile pages for 'look' and 'layout' and cannot locate it anywhere!  :'(

Its still there , click the white arrow beside "change your life for good" on the top right, this will show your profile picture as well as links to latest posts etc that shows what you waant, give it a try, once the arrow is click it will continue to show this every visit until you click it again to hide it .

Hi Willy,

Click profile -> modify profile -> look and layout  then you can change the theme, first item on the list on that page.

I've been playing around with the profile settings. somehow I got it to display the post in reverse order so the most recent is on top. I kind of like it that way.

Anyone else notice it seems to be more responsive and faster to upload photos?
