I have boadband internet here in Zhuhai but I can never get into youtube or any of those sites that you guys are putting into your messages.

Are the authorities blocking it here - I am on China Telecom? :huh:

I have no problem getting on to Google Uk it the other two i cannot get.

Youtube has been banned in China for a very long time...and Facebook, Google, Blogspot, and I am sure others have been blocked for a few months now.

Yeah, same here.  google's fine but youtube and facebook cease to exist from this side of the great wall.  I'd wager any website with the word blog in the name is blocked.

not suggesting that Google is banned, but restricted.  the hits/results are
fewer than outside of china.  a Google v China cooperative effort

Willy,

Yeah Raymond's right, U Tube was banned about 4 years or so ago, and Goggle went along with what the Chinese authorities wanted them to restrict on there site, for fear of them being blocked also. The others i don't really know about, except i think i did hear on the box about other sites being blocked or heavily restricted in China fairly recently....
