I will be traveling to China in October and if nothing changes my main destination is Changsha.
I was wondering if any member or guest of this forum lives there?

October its starting to get cold in Hunan Province. My wifes Baba leaves there at that time and travels South to us while the winter passes and then he returns for the Chinese New Year.

Hey Willy , it will still be a hell of a lot warmer than Iceland ha ha .

Exactly ... without knowing what I am talking about, I would guess that the winters in Changsha are warmer than the summers in Iceland. And this is also the reason I chose October to go there. It is to hot for me there during the summertime. I was told that the heat in Changsha recently has been well over 35 degrees Celsius. I could only stand that for a few days in a row, then I would roll over and die.

Not if your around those volcanos that keep closing down the european airspace. lol

Actually I am next to these volcanoes here that have been messing up the European airspace. I and my house - and the whole village I live in - got buried in ash from the newest eruption here two months ago. Luckily it didn't last for long this time but it was a terrible experience.

If I can make a funny here. I guess the people swept all of the ash toward England or maybe they have huge vacuum cleaners that blow it that direction. ;D

Well, the British wanted cash but since we don't have a c in our alphabet we sent ash.

Changsha is a very nice city, see if you can go on the Changsha Eye (dunno what its officially called) which is huge and impressive. It only seems to go in the evenings though which we found out to our disappointment. There's loads to do and see there.
October should be pleasant, even cool if the wind is from the north. The heat there is a drier heat than in the south like Guangzhou for example, October should be very pleasant. In my experience October will be the start of very changeable weather in places like Changsha - if the wind comes from the north it could be cool and rainy, if from the south hot, pack for both conditions!

Why do they need vacuum cleaners? There is plenty of 'hot air' that comes across the Atlantic and this does the job for them;D
