Brett, I wish you all the best in your trip in Hubei and wish everything can be as nice as you can share it here with all of us.
It seems that yes, you've found a special lovely lady who seems to be your real half one :)

So...
If the chemistry works when face to face, that would be very good for you :)
Don't forget to keep us updated :)

Well after 35 hours or so of being awake I am here.

First impressions - Heathrow Airport. What a bloody dump.

Beijing airport, we'll it's absolutely incredible isn't it. Wow, it has a little train running down the middle. And ha ha ha a can of coke is 20p. Let me say that the women shop assistants in most (maybe all) the airside shops were absolutely stunning.

My flight to Wuhan was stuck on the runway sliproad for ages due to meh. We got served steamed pork rolls and were shown (amongst other things) Les Dennis' funniest home videos. Welcome to China lol.

Wuhan airport, again quite new. Leaving the arrivals hall, well as a Westerner I was literally mobbed by illegal taxi touts! But luckily I found the official despatch stand. The taxi to central Wuhan cost 100RMB. Life experience gained - priceless. The seatbelt didn't work and he asked me something mysterious, I think it was if we wanted to use the toll road and whether he would do it for a fixed price. We witnessed many harrowing road rage incidents, but only one actual fight between two car's occupants.

How do people cross the road here? Maybe I am stuck in this block until my lady comes to rescue me.

First impressions of Wuhan? Well due to the torrential rain I've not seen much. You guys were so obsessed with my suit that you did't tell me to pack a bloody umbrella!

Oh and this hotel (Novotel) is fantastic, it's a bit too sumptuous for my liking but at least it's a little oasis of calm from the madness going on outside.

Tomorrow I explore.

Sorry no photos yet, it's dark out and my lady arrives later in the week.

Don't worry, I'll keep you all updated. I have a saying, sleep is for babies and old people ha ha ha!

Going to sleep to the sound of taxi horns. When I wake up I'll venture out and try to buy an umbrella with a !00RMB note :fi_lone_ranger:.

Well the rain has eased off so I had a look around the neighborhood.

I sure wish I had my SLR with me, my compact is a bit rubbish for this sort of thing.

Anyway, I failed to find somewhere selling umbrellas. But I did find a McDonalds. Result.

Hey Brett,

Sorry I missed you going and didn't get the chance to wish you 'bon voyage' but I'm sure you know that, as with all the other Brothers, my heartfelt and very best wishes go with you.

First the mushy bit:  I deeply hope that your lady exceeds all your expectations (if that is possible) and is your one true and loving soul mate.  And that you end up walking hand-in-hand together for the rest of life - how I love that wonderful Chinese philosophy!

Ok, that's the mushy bit (but believe me, sincerely said and felt): is there any chance that you could do a slight detour and pop over to Chongqin and drop a music CD in to Fei for me? Oh, and could you get back as soon as possible as I'm missing your helpful suggestions for my EMF's!

One last thing, look out for Willy, shouldn't be too hard - from what I see of his posts he's a tall black-haired bloke who is always leaning on walls - among other things.....

Have a wonderful time Brett: sing as if no-one is listening; dance as if no-one is watching; and love liked you have never loved before.

Missing you already!

John
