I thought this was kind of interesting.  Here is another record for the Guinness Book of World Records.

I've been on the 7 mi bridge here. But 26 miles? Problem here is if an accident (which happens with head on's) or a breakdown? There's no place to pull over. Can't imagine 26 miles of that torture.

WOW .. the longest Bridge I've been on was over Lake Pontchatrain ( Causeway ) in New Orleans . That Bridge is 23.83 miles long . Seems like driving over the Ocean , because all you see is Water .

wow, pity we as westerners can never drive it (legally).  it looks so clean wonder how long it will take for a traffic jam to clear? the last one I heard of in China took about 2 days!

Check list before crossing over bridge.  Food, Beer, Toilet paper.  Hehe.   I'm good.

Added later:  I forgot, my fiance and some movies.

Why not? I am getting my Chinese drivers license in august. There are several foreigners where i work who also has Chinese car and motorcycle driver licenses. The only requirement (atleast in Beijing) to take a chinese drivers license is that your visa has at least 90 free days left and that you are of legal age.

...and if there is an accident I hope the people aren't going too fast or it may get a wee bit soggy. 26 miles is just about the exact distance of a marathon - that is one long bridge.

The photo shows a nice new 3 lane and shoulder. That 26 miles won't be so bad (to US standards) it's like 4 lanes each direction. 7 mile bridge is fairly new (rebuilt) but only two lanes (1 north/1 south) and no shoulder. All it takes is one tractor trailer sightseeing and there's only one way to get around him.. head on to opposite traffic.
