 :)

Come on now. You gotta come home sometime. This is just your first baby step. You have a lot of work to do.
How does she feel about it. Is she as excited as you?

On a long journey you are.

It certainly looks like your first face to face went well.

We certainly need someone's new venture to liven things up here.

We cannot wait for the pics of you both enjoying what China has to offer.

It sounds like a much better start than the last Irish guy that went there. Where is Irishman these days?

Well at least it will not be so hot today.  Typhoon Soulik has hit ashore in Guangdong. It is very windy and rainy and so far it has caused three deaths.

Even my Chinese language teacher had to come by car this morning.

This is the middle or my second day here. I have met all her family 'in this area already. Right now, we are at her condo preparing for a one day trip to donghu mountain. We (me,hongping and her daughter Amy) will go later today and stay the night there. Tomorrow afternoon we will come back and have dinner with her best friend. The next day we will fly to Lijiang and stay there for a week.

I have a few minutes to post because, as everyone knows, it is nap time in China. So while Amy and Hongping nap, i write to you here.

I think everything is going great so far. Everyone seems to like me and i liked everyone... so that's a good start.  Hadmorning tea two days in a row. She keeos feeding me. I feel like i m with an Italian family... haha.  She made me try a durian. God awful smell and taste. Everything else has been delicious.

I will post :pictures when i am able... none at the moment.

Man you are my hero! Tried durian!!!! I will not even allow it into my home let alone try it.

The tea's are special events so was there different people at each?   How many varieties of cooked chicken feet have you tried?

The important event is the dinner with her best friend.  They will speak together in a serious way. The friend will give a forceful opinion on you, either way, good or bad.  She will tell it as she finds you.

I agree with Mike.  Feed her.  But one of the keys is, you must feed her the choice pieces of the dish.  It shows that you are wanting to take care of her.  Women get into that stuff.

Sounds like your trip is going very good.  I'm happy for you.

I remember my first trip to China...I was convinced that I put on an extra 50 lbs.

And what's wrong with durian?  I love it.

I am still belching and tasting the durian I ate back in 1999 in Shenzhen. No wonder it is banned on public transportation.

I have a bus placard that has international icons for not shitting, not farting and no durian on the bus. no kidding.
