Big Dave is leaving for China!
« on: December 14, 2009, 03:29:31 pm »
Well finally my trip to see Anna is almost here!  I am leaving for Beijing on Thursday December 17th and will arrive in Beijing on the 18th.  Anna is meeting me at the airport.  We will spend six days in Beijing and will return to her home on the 23rd of December.  We have a few side trips planned... Nanjing, Shanghai, and a visit to her hometown to meet the family.  I will be back in the USA on January 18th!  30 days in China!  I will be in heaven!

I will try to do a daily blog and will post the link here.  If the nasty national firewall prevents this, I will see if Ed will let me send my blog and photographs to be posted to him, via Yahoo mail, and see if he will post it for me.

I will try to keep everyone updated on how my trip is going.  Looks like I will miss Scott by a day or two in Beijing... passing each other like ships in the night!:-/

Three days and counting!

Big Dave

Dave, good luck to you.  I hope everything works out for you.  I am sure you girl knows Beijing but if you need any info just ask.  They have number of trips to the great wall.  If you need a translator or a driver just let me know. If going to Xi'an, I have the name of a great guide there.  She speaks excellent
English and has a great price.

Big Dave,

30 day's, ...Now that's a sensible time to spend in China.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your time there and get a flavour of the life style of China, and more importantly, getting to know the real Anna....

It's a shame that others can't spend that sort of duration on there first trip to China. Not that i'm knocking anyone here, we all have our own situations and responsibilities etc, that can and do limit our available time, that we can realistically spend on our trips to China.

Anyway, all the very best on your trip, ....Savour it and Enjoy it!!!!

David....

Have a great trip Big Guy !!!

Here in China, I can view my blog via www.ninjacloak.com but I can't edit or post pictures. I post directly by blogger email.

Glad to see that you're better. Say "Hi" to Anna for us.

I am hoping to blog my trip while in China.  Here is my Blog address:

http://darkoath13.blogspot.com/

Edward has said he will help do blog entries if I am having trouble with the National firewall.

Chong are you in Shanghai?  I will be visiting Shanghai for a long weekend while in China.  If so perhaps we can meet for dinner one evening?

No Big Guy ... Sunny and I live in Kaiping in Southern China [ closest major city is Guangzhou or Shenzhen ]. Kaiping is the city with a gazillion 250cc motorcycles/scooters. You would be the King of the Road here with your 'Mean Machine'.  :icon_cool:
