THINK YOU'RE HAVING A BAD DAY?

Fire authorities in California found a corpse in a burned-out section of forest while assessing the damage done by a forest fire. The deceased male was dressed in a full wet suit, complete with scuba tanks on his back, flippers, and face mask.

A post-mortem test revealed that the man died not from burns, but from massive internal injuries. Dental records provided a positive identification. Investigators then set about to determine how a fully clothed diver ended up in the middle of a forest fire.

It was revealed that on the day of the fire, the man went diving off the coast, some 20 miles from the forest. The fire fighters, seeking to control the fire as quickly as possible, had called in a fleet of helicopters with very large dip buckets. Water was dipped from the ocean and emptied at the site of the forest fire. You guessed it. One minute our diver was making like Flipper in the Pacific, the next, he was doing the breast stroke in a fire dip bucket 300 feet in the air.

Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed. But keep reading....

STILL THINK YOU'RE HAVING A BAD DAY?

A man was working on his motorcycle on the patio, his wife nearby in the kitchen. While racing the engine, the motorcycle accidentally slipped into gear. The man, still holding onto the handlebars, was dragged along as it burst through the glass patio doors.

His wife, hearing the crash, ran in the room to find her husband cut and bleeding, the motorcycle, and the shattered patio door. She called for an ambulance and, because the house sat on a fairly large hill, went down the several flights of stairs to meet the paramedics and escort them to her husband.

While the attendants were loading her husband, the wife managed to right the motorcycle and push it outside. She also quickly blotted up the spilled gasoline with some paper towels and tossed them into the toilet.

After being treated and released, the man returned home, looked at the shattered patio door and the damage done to his motorcycle. He went into the bathroom and consoled himself with a cigarette while attending to his business. About to stand, he flipped the butt between his legs.

The wife, who was in the kitchen, heard a loud explosion and her husband screaming. Finding him lying on the bathroom floor with his trousers blown away and burns on his buttocks, legs and groin, she once again phoned for an ambulance. The same paramedic crew was dispatched.

As the paramedics carried the man down the stairs to the ambulance they asked the wife how he had come to burn himself. She told them. They started laughing so hard, one slipped, the stretcher dumping the husband out. He fell down the remaining stairs, breaking his arm.

STILL HAVING A BAD DAY? JUST REMEMBER, IT COULD BE WORSE...

The average cost of rehabilitating a seal after the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska was $80,000. At a special ceremony, two of the most expensively saved animals were being released back into the wild amid cheers and applause from onlookers. A minute later, in full view, a killer whale ate them both.

STILL THINK YOU ARE HAVING A BAD DAY?

A woman came home to find her husband in the kitchen shaking frantically, almost in a dancing frenzy, with some kind of wire running from his waist towards the electric kettle. Intending to jolt him away from the deadly current, she whacked him with a handy plank of wood, breaking his arm in two places. Up to that moment, he had been happily listening to his Walkman.

HOW ABOUT NOW? STILL THINK YOU'RE HAVING A BAD DAY?

Two animal rights protesters were protesting at the cruelty of sending pigs to a slaughterhouse in Bonn, Germany. Suddenly, all two thousand pigs broke loose and escaped through a broken fence, stampeding madly. The two hapless protesters were trampled to death.

WHAT? STILL HAVING A BAD DAY??

Iraqi terrorist Khay Rahnajet didn't pay enough postage on a letter bomb. It came back with 'return to sender' stamped on it. Forgetting it was the bomb, he opened it and was blown to bits.

Talking about a bad day.A Iranian man was in Bangkok Thailand was going to blow up a embassy to protest something or another. He had the hand grenades and the explosives all ready. While walking across the house to get into a taxi. One of the hand grenades.Fell out of the bag. When it fell out of the bag.The safety pin was pulled out of the grenade. The grenade rolled across the floor and detonated.Blowing the roof off the rental house. And blowing both of the mans legs off.The mans 2 accomplices ran down the street dripping blood. One man was arrested in Malaysia as he was boarding a flight to Iran. The other accomplice ran off into the Jungle. And is still being hunted.

A guy stuck some explosives into his underwear. When he went to detonate the explosives they malfunctioned. And burned his private area.So there is no paradise for this looser.I think they gave the guy a life sentence. So besides being maimed for the rest of his life.he is going to have to beat off would be prison lovers. For at least the next twenty years

Not quite right Maxx. They told him take out the pin and count to ten before throwing it. He started that process but then run out of fingers on one hand to count on. So put the grenade between his knees and held it there and resumed counting up to ten on other hand. But only got to 8 when..............!  :o

It turned out his efforts were (h)armless but he was legless.

WE WAS BRUNG UP PROPER

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL MY FRIENDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1940's, 50's and 60's. First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank Sherry while they carried us and lived in houses made of asbestos...

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese, bread and dripping, raw egg products, loads of bacon and processed meat, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes or cervical cancer. Then after that trauma, our baby cots were covered with bright coloured lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets or shoes, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking. As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. Take away food was limited to fish and chips, no pizza shops, McDonalds, KFC, Subway or Nandos. Even though all the shops closed at 6.00pm and didn't open on a Sunday, somehow we didn't starve to death!

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this. We could collect old drink bottles and cash them in at the corner store and buy Toffees, Gobstoppers and Bubble Gum.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter, milk from the cow and drank soft drinks with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because... WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were okay.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of old prams and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. We built tree houses and dens and played in river beds with matchbox cars. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo Wii, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 999 channels on SKY, no video/DVD's or colour TV no mobile phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet Facebook... WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them.

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

Only girls had pierced ears!

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. You could only buy Easter Eggs and Hot Cross Buns at Easter time...

We were given air guns and catapults for our 10th birthdays, we rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them. Mum didn't have to go to work to help dad make ends meet because we didn't need to keep up with the Jones's!

Not everyone made the rugby/football/cricket/netball team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that! Getting into the team was based on MERIT.

Our teachers used to hit us with canes and gym shoes and throw the blackboard rubber at us if they thought we weren't paying attention. We can string sentences together and spell and have proper conversations because of a good, solid three R's education.

Our parents would tell us to ask a stranger to help us cross the road. The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

Our parents didn't invent stupid names for their kids like 'Kiora' and 'Blade' and 'Ridge' and 'Vanilla'.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good.

No your right - we waited for the americans to do that.  ;D

Talking of Americans - the NATO Phonetic alphabet - you know A Alpha B Bravo C Charlie - etc  Well I had to telephone my banlk and he was given me information using this Nato Code.  But when he came to 'Y' he said Yellow.  After he finished I said that I was impressed with his Nato phonetics but pointed out he used Yellow and not Yankee.

He then told be that the bank had received complaints that the word Yankee was inappropriate and they had been banned from using it as it is no longer politically correct.

So my question is for you Yan.. - oops Americans - Do we now have to call that well know team the New York Yellows or sing about 'Yellow Doodle Dandy' in future?

haha... yes that darn "Politically Correct" shit here is so bad!
How bad is it? I now even have to watch what I say to my LaoPo, that's how bad!

How I remember those times as a Teen. Just to give you just one of my ( maybe two ) adventures here. Actually we did have Street Gangs in the sixties already. I had about two three very close friends ( same street of course ) and we had build a Treehouse, supported with three (3) tall tree's. One day being up there with one of my Buddies, we heard a chopping noise coming from below. Well, one of those other "Gangs" started to hack away at one of those supporting tree's.. to bring us down. Little did they know, we were always prepared for just this case. We kept a couple of Buckets full of "Red Ants" at all times, when sitting up there. So you know, how fast they stopped doing the chopping.. after having those nice little "Helpers" dropped over them. We were laughing all the way home.

I also remember, like mentioned.. we played Soccer with the Boys.. til the Sun went down (10pm ), always keeping us self's busy one way or another. Kids nowadays don't know how to Entertain themselves, take away the PC/TV/Electronics... I'm soooo bored. Yeah, and you are NOT getting any Exercise either.

junk food-no exercise-no brain stimulations= fat and dumb kid's/adults. Ohhhh.. can I say that????

Yeh...!! Well I am older than most of you here and I still remember the "good ole' days"......

We had rationing, no social security, polio, diptheria,TB, cars that ran for at least 2 weeks without a breakdown (that is if you were in the 1% of the population who could aspire to wning a car !!) , rod brakes, wet ignition, cross-ply tyres etc.....

I was beaten sensless at school many times by Teachers who were just animals....just to develop my "inner fortitude and tolerance to pain, I had no chance of rising "above my status" due to hard work...only your "breeding" counted for achievement.

Every boss I worked for must be called "Sir"...in turn he only referred to me by my surname.

No telephone, no TV, no computers, no internet, no "gadgets", no money, no hope, ...despite a University education, I was doomed by Social Conventions.

No antibiotics, cancer cures, heart transplants...and you could die horribly from diseases that today are fixed without fuss.

We had children with ricketts, malnutrition, lice, ringworm, impetigo...and on and on it goes

Sure...they were the good ole days !!!

Willy It depends on how the word is used.My family is from the southern part of the United States.I had relatives that fought on both sides of the civil war.Everybody living north Of Missouri is called a Yankee.Everybody that lives in Missouri and south of Missouri is considered a southerner or a rebel. The word is still used.It is ok to say the word.

The only time I've ever heard the word Yankee used outside of the United states the word was used by a Brit.It doesn't offend me.But I could see it offending somebody that has real deep southern roots. Then the word has more meaning.Because the person thinks that you are saying that. There family supported the war of Northern aggression. And Yes some of these southerners think the war is still going on.Some people believe this stuff enough that they run around with bumper stickers on there trucks. That Say A American by choice.A southerner by the grace of God.So as you can see it can become offensive to some people..
